This Chicken Bryan Recipe Is Restaurant-Worthy
If you've been to Carrabba's Italian Grill, then you're probably familiar with their signature dishes. If not, I think Carrabba's chicken bryan is the best offering they have on their menu. I just can't get enough of the flavor combo, and it's one of my favorite chicken dishes. Since I love it so much, I decided to make my own version, and it might be even more delicious than the restaurant!
My homemade chicken bryna recipe has the most delectable lemon butter, sun-dried tomato sauce, and just the right amount of goat cheese on top of perfectly pan-seared chicken breasts. Trust me, you and your family are going to be obsessed with this recipe! It brings a restaurant-quality meal right into your kitchen, and it's one that'll impress.
Oh, and the process of making the recipe is easy enough no matter your cooking level, so I'm confident you'll nail this chicken bryan!
Ingredients For Chicken Bryan
- Chicken breasts- Carrabba's Italian Grill chicken bryan uses chicken breast, so that's the kind of chicken I used in my version. However, if you desire, you can substitute it with boneless chicken thighs for a result that's just as delicious.
- Kosher salt and pepper, garlic powder- the simple blend of seasonings that adds a perfect flavor to the chicken.
- Olive oil- divided and used to cook chicken and vegetables. Avocado oil and coconut oil are great options if you don't have olive oil.
- Onion and garlic cloves- minced garlic and chopped onion: the ideal pair for this Italian classic.
- White wine- cooking with white wine always feels fancy, and it provides the base for the light sauce in this recipe.
- Lemon juice- helps balance the acidity.
- White pepper- black pepper works too, but I love the flavor of the white pepper.
- Butter- the base of the basil lemon sauce.
- Sundried tomatoes- give the entire dish an elevated flavor. Make sure they're chopped into bite-sized, easy-to-eat pieces.
- Basil- chopped fresh basil.
- Goat cheese- this creamy, tangy cheese cuts through the savory seasonings of garlic and onion and creates a balanced flavor profile.
How To Make Chicken Bryan
Step 1: Prepare the chicken
Pound the chicken breasts with a meat mallet to flatten them into an even thickness. Then, brush the chicken breasts with olive oil and sprinkle both sides evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Step 2: Cook chicken
Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to a non-stick pan and put it over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, cook the chicken breasts for 5 minutes per side or until it's cooked through. Then, set the cooked chicken aside for later.
Step 3: Cook the vegetables
Add the remaining olive oil to the pan and add the onions. Sauté them for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds. Add the white wine to the skillet and simmer for a minute to cook out the alcohol.
Step 4: Finish the sauce
Add the lemon juice and white pepper to the skillet and stir to combine everything. Lower the heat to low and allow the sauce to reduce by half. Then whisk the butter into the sauce one to two tablespoons at a time, allowing the sauce to emulsify. Finally, add the sun-dried tomatoes and basil and stir into the sauce.
Step 5: Serve
Place the cooked chicken back into the sauce and flip the chicken to coat each of the breasts fully in the sauce. Transfer the chicken to a plate and top each piece with 1 slice of goat cheese, half of the sauce from the pan, and sundried tomatoes. Garnish with more fresh basil, and then dig in. Enjoy!
Expert Tips
- Really make sure to pound the chicken down and get each breast even in thickness so it cooks at the same time.
- Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the chicken is 165°F before removing it from the heat.
- If you're a good multi-tasker, cook the chicken and make the sauce at the same time to cut down on the total cooking time needed to make this recipe.
How To Store Chicken Bryan
If you have any leftovers, consider yourself lucky because this chicken tastes incredible the next day. Letting it sit in the sauce really brings on some serious flavor. Anyway, you can store any leftover chicken with the sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
To keep the chicken for longer, transfer the cooled leftovers to a freezer-safe container or bag and freeze for 2-3 months. I suggest eating it within 2 months to ensure the freshest quality of sauce and flavor.
How To Reheat Chicken Bryan
I like to reheat the chicken bryan by baking it in the oven at 350°F (180°C) covered with foil until heated through. For chicken from the fridge, it should take about 10 minutes to get warm. Chicken from the freezer will take about double the time.
